The class combines restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra. During a restorative class students are placed in supported postures aided through the use of numerous props to support the body. The practice releases tension held in the muscles producing a deep state of relaxation for the mind and body.
Yoga Nidra is a guided journey walking through the layers of being a living and breathing human being. When you meditate, you clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to stress. Meditation cultivates increased self awareness, focus to the present, reduces the connection we have to negative emotions which allow us to explore life with courage, flexibility, and a sense of expansion.
With that in mind the practice may help manage systems of anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, pain, and sleep concerns. The class is beneficial for stress reduction and for anyone looking to take a meaningful break from a busy life or practice.
