Workshop description: Participants must be at least 18 years of age. During this experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the universal and near-universal basic methods of the shaman to enter non-ordinary reality for problem solving, well-being and healing. Particular emphasis is put on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humans to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature.

Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. Students are also provided with methods for journeying to meet and study with their own individual spirit helpers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the planet.

Community Potluck – Sunday, October 2nd 4:30-7:00pm

Ice Cream Special!

Late Breaking News! We have decided that, since temps will be back up in the 80s, we will have this event also be an Ice Cream Social! So, we will have ice cream (hopefully listeria-free) and some yummy toppings. Bring your sweet tooth!

Sol offers a safe, intentional, learning and healing environment where professionals collaborate to provide accessible, holistic wellness services. At Sol we know that nothing we do is done alone, and that is one reason we love our bimonthly community potlucks.

Join us to visit with friends and neighbors, and to practice wellness through connection. We will gather inside or out depending on weather and temperature. This event is always fun. In previous months, the community has shared food, drinks, jokes, and musical talents.

Feel free to invite friends or family, and bring anything you’d like to share. We look forward to spending a low-key and stress-free evening with you!

Community Potluck on Sunday, August 7, 4:30 – 7:00

On Sunday, August 7, we will host our Community Potluck from 4:30-7:00pm. Join us to visit with friends and neighbors, and to practice wellness through connection. Sol offers a safe, intentional, learning and healing environment where professionals collaborate to provide accessible, holistic wellness services. At Sol we know that nothing we do is done alone, and that is one reason we love our bimonthly community potlucks.

At 5:00pm, Austin-based musician and artist Jacqueline May will lead us in Circle Singing. Circle Singing is a form of group play using everyone’s voices. There are a variety of ever-changing games at the beginning that involve different improvisational skills and different numbers of participants. We culminate in full group songs. A leader spontaneously creates and shares harmonic and rhythmic patterns that are given to group members to continue, while still more patterns are created that fit with them, and then the leader or others as invited may solo over the whole. The resulting Circle Song is totally unique. Song leadership shifts around, so that many people have a chance to experience hearing their inner music brought into the world and reflected back. People of all kinds can come and be welcome.

No experience in singing is necessary, and experienced musicians can discover a challenge of a completely new kind.
